Thus it happened that everything was dif-
ferent, but just as happy. The turkey had been
prepared and went into the oven promptly as
soon as Mrs. Lee wakened. Breakfast was very,
very light, not to spoil the dinner which would
be on time. Presents were "just what they
wanted" and the little tree shone with its elec-
tric lights, gay decorations and little Christmas
angel, which Amy Lou and the other children
remembered from earliest years. Christmas
cards and gifts from absent friends, including
"Grandma," made their hearts warm. And that
they were all together, well, sheltered, blessed
and happy, Mr. Lee gave thanks before he
carved the turkey.
